Ground Education Keeps Growing!
November, 2023— The Ground Ed team is now 29 people strong! Our dedicated and talented crew shares the work of teaching, lesson development, materials planning, garden maintenance, community outreach, fundraising and more. With 13,000+ elementary students in our program, this will be a record year of nature-based learning! Overheard in the garden recently - "I forgot we were at school...I thought we were on a farm" and "I want to live in this garden." These moments of discovery and joy continue to be our why! |
Our New After-School Garden Program is Here!
October, 2023— With support from the Long Beach Unified School District, Ground Education is expanding the nature day! Now 23 schools are opening their school gardens after-hours for more opportunity to think, explore and connect with nature and friends. The Ground Education team is also supporting parent enrichment activities, school festivals and family wellness events. Time in nature lowers stress, restores focus and promotes kindness and community. We are grateful to help bring more nature access to our school families. |
Support us in facilitating equitable access to nature by bringing garden lessons and green spaces to LBUSD school campuses. |
